I have spent my entire life by the sea, whether it's Kennebunk/port Maine, Stone Harbor and Cape May NJ, The Oregon coast, or the North Sea in the Netherlands. My happiest memories and moments are drawn from these times. The sea and its surroundings have become my muse. The beauty of coastal Maine has catapulted my vision of natural approaches to make work that feels more authentic and true. I work in many mediums, but most recently natural dyeing  is where my heart is, I am a designer at my core. My passion is making work that make people feel at peace and a sense of Hygge a Danish and Norwegian word that describes a mood of coziness and "comfortable conviviality" the Dutch have a similar word, Gezellig.

During the most trying times of our lives, the Covid Pandemic; brought to my attention the desperate need we all have for JOY and SIMPLICITY, as well as being in nature. The Ocean and mountains are the best medicine in my tool box, where most of my pattern ideas come from. Currently I work in my home studio in Atlanta, Georgia during the school year, and my studio in Kennebunk, Maine in the summer.

I have been an Art Professor at MICA ( Maryland institute College of Art) Where I also received my MFA in painting in 2006, under the tutelage of abstract expressionist Grace Hartigan.

I have spent most of my career teaching art in Private schools up and down the eastern seaboard and Oregon in the Pacific Northwest and Rwanda, Africa.

My Biggest joys are my Niece and Nephew Ian and Helen, plus my Irish Wolfhound mix, Sadie!
